One course at Coursera usually contains, an introduction or syllabus for the basic materials that will be discuss further in the courses. A set of lectures video, which usually consist of three to six videos and each one of the range from 20 to 30 minutes long. Each video have introduction of the basic concepts and problems. What makes Udemy different is that they use content form online content creators to sell for profit. Udemy will let other people to use their tools to create course and promote it to get money from students or subscribers. Udemy courses are commonly taken to enhance job-relating skills and doesn’t provide and are not credentialed for college credit. The company has encourages many corporate trainers to provide courses for their company employees and by 2018, Udemy has more than 65.000 courses on their website.
Udemy lets their instructors use their platform to upload materials, in video format, Powerpoint presentations, PDFs, audio, zip files and live classes. The instructors will also be able engage and interact with their students using the online discussion boards. Udemy has a wide range of courses including business and entrepreneurship, academics, art, fitness, health, language, technology, music and many more. The company also offer some free courses depending on the instructors. If you are an instructors, you will get paid based on the student’s interest. If the students re attracted by your reputations or marketing strategy, you will earn 97% of the revenue. But if the students are attracted by the site’s own marketing, you will only earn 50% of the revenue.
